WHEN?

When a white fought alongside a black

… For freedoms purpose

When a Latino marched alongside another who wasn’t

… Not caring of who came from where, but more where they were going together

When a person of Asian descent and a Jewish historian came as one against all odds

… Not knowing one another, but instituting the next step

When men and women hadn’t degraded each other for power, seizing abuse against children

… And simply Love

When the rich approached the poor with compassion

The poor admired without hating their position

… And appreciated one another’s existence

When you looked at me and I thought nothing of it

When I looked at you and simply smiled

… All because we were there

It may have been for a same cause or may have been for various

When you and I, they and them, he and she walked in unison

It may have been side by side or may have been in a different direction

When all as one was seen and nothing was fragmented

Critique may have been present and disagreement may have joined

When all was said and done

But no one was harmed and nothing destroyed

Love was the stand and compassion the microphone

When all shared their ideas in creating something better
